Amazon Prime Day is coming – July 11-12 2023! I love a good deal and Amazon Prime Day is no exception. I’ve created a list of some of my favorite items for sensory play and exploration for all ages. Put these on your list, because you won’t want to miss out on them!
You do need an Amazon Prime account to take part. If you don’t already have a membership, there are several benefits available:
· Fast, FREE shipping on eligible Amazon.com purchases
· Digital entertainment benefits including Prime Video, Prime Music, and Prime Reading
· Household shopping benefits including Amazon Fresh and Prime Pantry
Those perks, with two-day shipping, make getting products to your door easier than ever, and I’m all about making things simple and easy.
These are all products we have personally used and loved, but you can always make sensory play from items around the house, no need for purchasing anything extra.
For the Youngest
1. Multi-Sensory Silicone Activity Toy
This has provided endless entertainment for my youngest. At 20 months, I’ll still find him quietly popping the buttons and pulling the chords. Great for those fine-motor skills!
As he grows it seems he finds more ways to play with it. It’s great for the car, as you can see here.
I got these for our son when he was learning to sit. Stick them on a window, the fridge or dishwasher, or a mirror.
Or be like our 6-year-old and stick one to your forehead. Though, I don’t recommend that, unless you’d like what looks like a bruise dead center on your forehead. Then, go for it. Who am I to judge?
3. Busy Board
Do you have a kiddo who loves pushing buttons? This is a great cause-and-effect toy and easy for traveling!
For Outside
We have this swing on our swingset and it gets daily use! All our kids (and even the neighborhood kids) enjoy it and love to spin and swing.
5. Rain Showers Splash Pond Water Table
Do other kids love water like mine do? I swear mine are all part fish.
This water table has been a favorite this season! If you are on TikTok you may have seen the hack to add an aquarium pump for continuous water flow from the top. Do it! I no longer have to continually dump water, which means more relaxation time for me. You can see where we zip-tied to the water table.
My biggest tips:
- use a drill when assembling, it took an absurd amount of time to screw all the pieces together on my own
- buy the cover for when not in use, it has protected our water table from the elements and kept it clean
Sensory Bin Play
A great addition to any sensory play! They have held up through multiple children who play hard.
This is an IKEA FLISAT dupe. From what I’ve read the IKEA bins do fit as well as FLISAT inserts, but I haven’t tried it. The bins are NOT included, but the suggested bins fold flat, so if I need to store them they don’t take up much room. They collect hair and dust like crazy, so keep that in mind.
Despite the cons, my kids have loved it, and it was incredibly simple to put together! Which is a win in my book.
The TOOB brand is our favorite. They are staples in our everyday play. The Ocean Animals and Insects are by far the most used in our home.
9. Inspire My Play products
We have the PlayTRAY and all the accessories! The inserts, the bowls, the scoops, block mat – we have them all. I love that everything can store neatly inside the tray. It’s big, so lots of room for playing.
Our sensory products are a great addition to the PlayTRAY. You have the option to buy only the filler when purchasing our bins, which makes it easy to dump and play with any bin of your choice! The PlayTRAY lid also makes a great location to use with our Play Dough Kits and Jars.
Fidget Toys
10. Large Pop Tubes
These are great fidget toys, especially for my older ones. My favorite place to stash them is our car and diaper bag. They make a satisfying sound, that even my husband and I find ourselves playing with them, and I love that you can connect them. Sometimes we try to make shapes out of them or spell words.
11. Monkey Noodles
These are fun! They are super stretchy, which means we’ve all been snapped a few times, but it doesn’t stop us from playing. Possibly one of the favorite fidget toys for our sensory-seeking child. They also have ones with different textures, which are my favorite.
Amazing for keeping hands busy and they help keep my sensory-seeking child focused, instead of absent-mindedly picking or chewing.
These are our most used and loved products purchased from Amazon.
As always, adult supervision is advised with any sensory play or toys. Play at your own discretion.
